A really handy bit of gear

Pros:Small, cheap and very useful.
Cons:No case and as-supplied, the amplitude pot was rather tight and the "adjust" rotary encoder has a rather poor fitting knob.
Other Thoughts:As a DDS signal generator this is a pretty nifty bit of gear. Although not full-featured like most bench DDS units, it has more than enough functionality and performance to handle about 95% of what I need so represents a significant savings over more -upmarket DDSes with unnecessary features such as arbitrary waveform generation.
Bottomline:Can't complain -- definitely $50 worth of value here.

Pros:Good signal generator for a low price. Ideal for electronic hobbyists who want to experiment with alternating signals for a low price.
The indicated frequency on the display is correct, compared to a Tektronix scope.
Cons:My device didn't include a English manual, so I had to figure out myself how it works. No big deal, the text on the PCB explains a lot.
It also didn't come with a European power plug, so I needed to get a 5V adapter myself.
Other Thoughts:I wonder what the RX and TX connectors on the PCB are for. I didn't measure any data activity on these connectors...
Bottomline:Excellent quality/price ratio!
